Armenian championships of different age groups have started, in which many teams from Yerevan և regions participate.

2021 marks a new record for Armenian basketball, as regular championships are held in six age groups at once.

U12,boys 'and girls' teams under 12, 14 and 16 started playing. The number of participants is quite large, due to which the qualifying round matches are still going on, after which the regular championships will start.

BFA Secretary General Artur Nazaryan said the following in a conversation with the federation's press office.

- This is the fourth season that we hold regular championships, which allows players to have a stable practice for several months. It is gratifying to see that the number of age championships is increasing, but we will not be satisfied with what we have achieved. Work is already underway to have even more age group championships in the coming years, to make basketball more popular in Armenia.

It is important that the state self-government bodies and Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport provide more support to sports schools and basketball clubs in order to achieve the desired result.
